An awesome time is guaranteed in Albufeira
This former fishing village in Portugal’s Algarve is a thriving vacation destination these days. It’s perhaps best known for its lively nightlife scene, but because it’s located right on the Atlantic Ocean, there are plenty of other things to do.
For example, you can go on a dolphin-watching voyage to try and get a glimpse of these stunning creatures in their natural environment. There are also sea caves you can explore, which will fill you with a sense of awe and wonder.
Live your best life in Lisbon
When you book a trip to Portugal, visiting the country’s capital, Lisbon, is a lovely way to spend some time. It’s a hilly city, but on the plus side, this means there are many spectacular views to enjoy.
The good news is there’s an excellent tram service to help you navigate your way around. The most famous route is the number 28 because it takes you through many of the city’s most picturesque neighborhoods, such as Estrela.
Castelo de São Jorge is a Lisbon landmark you should visit during your stay. It’s over 1,000 years old, and the combination of fascinating rooms inside and the jaw-dropping views over the city make this a must-see attraction.
Magnificent Madeira
While Madeira isn’t part of the Portuguese mainland, its location off the coast of Africa makes it a marvelous place for a vacation. The weather is usually fantastic, and with waterfalls, wonderful hikes and botanical gardens among the attractions, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
Many black sand and pebble beaches are dotted through Madeira; taking a dip in the warm waters is an absolute treat.
Of course, the area is most famous for its Madeira wine, which you’ll probably want to take a few bottles back home with you.
A postcard from Porto
Porto is the second-largest city in the country. When you take a trip to Portugal, making your way to the northwest is recommended so you can savor the renowned Port wine, the historic Ribeira district with its easy-on-the-eye views and cruise along the Douro River with the breeze in your hair.
