The Grand Place market square is at the heart of Brussels and more than lives up to its name. The Royal Palace of Brussels and the Town Hall are two of the highly impressive buildings worth a visit if you appreciate great architecture.
Brussels has a plethora of places to eat, drink and really enjoy yourself. The beer here is world-famous and there are lots of opportunities to try local brews that you won’t find in the supermarkets in the UK.
There are some interesting museums to explore too such as the musical instrument museum and even one showcasing the history of Belgian comic books. As you’d expect from a major European city, there are fantastic shopping opportunities and some relaxing green spaces for romantic strolls.
You can’t really do Brussels justice in a multi-centre city break, but your first visit will certainly give you the appetite to return. And if you’ve been before, you’ll know that a memorable time awaits you.
