The smaller of the two main islands which form the nation of Malta, Gozo combines a multitude of attractions in a small space. Perhaps best known for its golden beaches, such as Ramla Bay, it is increasingly becoming known as a snorkeling and diving destination too. When it comes to history, the island features Ggantija Archeological Park, containing a temple pre-dating the Pyramids of Egypt and once thought to have been built by giants, alongside the pleasant ‘capital’ Victoria (Rabat). Here visitors can roam the ancient streets within its protective walls and admire century upon century of exquisite artistry at every turn.
