No man is an island” wrote the poet John Donne hundreds of years ago, but when you visit Stockholm, you’ll find yourself more than happy to hop from one to another to see what lies in store.
Stockholm has a maritime museum, palace and charming old town area which is home to the Nobel Museum. As you make your way across the city’s numerous bridges, there are views to catch your eye and stop for a photograph or two.
If you’re looking things to do as a family, there’s an aquarium, city park with a winter ice rink as well as an amusement park located on the island of Djurgården. And if you have a sweet tooth, Sweden has an obsession with pick and mix known as godis which you’ll find in lots of small shops as well as supermarkets. The Swedish Museum of Natural History is another interesting place for kids and adults alike with dinosaur fossils amongst the popular exhibits.
Whatever your reason for taking a trip to Stockholm, it will be an invigorating and interesting experience. There are so many exceptional restaurants to try, so it’s probably wise to pick out some you like the sound of before you go.
